Our Story

Ben’s Falls Retreat isn’t just accommodation — it’s a place built from heart, resilience, and a deep respect for the land.

Tucked along the Severn River in New England, NSW, the retreat began with Allan, a father who turned personal heartbreak into something lasting. After losing his son Ben in 2004, Allan set out to create a space where others could reset, reflect, and reconnect.

With help from family and friends, he brought that vision to life — shaping the cabins, the river paths, and the centrepiece function space by hand. When Allan passed in 2014, his wife Shirley and children, Allana and Bradley, took up the reins. Allana continues to welcome guests with the same quiet strength and warmth that Allan built into every part of the retreat.

We believe in catch and release.

We believe in taking care of the land.

We believe in creating space to slow down.

There’s no pressure here — just a flowing river, a warm bed, and time to breathe. Whether you’re here to celebrate, reflect, or simply be still, you’ll find room for it all.

“Most special place I have ever been too - the vibe screams built with love by an amazing man and his family.”
